On November 25, the Vietnam Auction Company continued to bring 570 license plates to the auction floor. Among them, the “lucky” license plate 51K – 979.79 from Ho Chi Minh City attracted attention when it opened with the highest winning bid of 2.59 billion VND.
According to license plate enthusiasts, the number “79” symbolizes great luck and brings wealth to the owner. Some other beliefs suggest that the license plate with the number 79, which belongs to the five elements, will bring luck, smooth movement, and peace to the user.
In the morning session, the Quang Ninh province’s license plate with the quadruple nines 14A – 799.99 also reached a high auction price of 705 million VND. The remaining license plates were only bid around 40 – 70 million VND. Many license plates were not successfully auctioned.
According to regulations, for each license plate, participants in the auction must pay a deposit of 40 million VND and a participation fee of 100,000 VND. The auction duration for each license plate is 60 minutes.
The winning bidder of the license plate must pay the full auction amount within 15 days from the date of announcement of the results. This amount is deducted from the deposit (40 million VND), but does not include the vehicle registration fee.
Afterwards, within 12 months, the winner of the license plate auction must register this plate for the car. If the registration deadline is missed, this beautiful license plate will be transferred to the registration and vehicle management system, and the winning bidder will not be refunded the auction amount that has been paid.
