I am a die-hard fan of Ferrari, but lately, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu has been surprising car enthusiasts by continuously acquiring old Ferrari models instead of opting for newer ones like the SF90, 296, or 812. Recently, he added a Ferrari 488 GTB to his collection, despite already owning a rare 488 Pista Spider in his garage.
Recently, the dealership that has a close relationship with Mr. Vu posted a series of images featuring a white Ferrari California with “UN” lettering on both sides of the car. These images subtly confirm that the car belongs to the coffee industry tycoon. The photos were taken in a location that has previously been seen with million-dollar supercars owned by the Trung Nguyen Group.
According to research, this Ferrari California is a 2010 model and is currently priced at around 10 billion VND. The car was originally Rosso Corsa in color but has been transformed to white using a decal method. Despite its age, the car has relatively low mileage, with approximately 9,000 km recorded as of May 2022.
So far, four first-generation Ferrari California models have appeared in the Vietnamese market, including the one showcased in this article. There is one in white and two others in red. One of them has been upgraded with the Hamann package and was previously owned by the affluent individual, Do Binh Duong (Duong Kon), before being sold to Mr. Vu.
The Ferrari California, introduced in 2008, made a swift impact with its front-engined layout and a 2+2 seating arrangement. It was also the first Ferrari convertible to feature a metal hardtop that could be opened or closed in just 14 seconds using an electric motor.
This particular car is equipped with sporty 5-spoke Diamond-Cut wheels, while the black brake calipers at the rear add a subtle touch.
The interior of the car is adorned primarily in brown leather, complemented by black elements in certain areas. The combination of red stitching and accents creates a unique style, setting it apart from other Ferrari models in Vietnam. The car does not feature any carbon fiber details.
The “heart” of the Ferrari California is a naturally aspirated 4.3-liter V8 engine that generates a maximum power of 460 horsepower and a peak torque of 485 Nm, matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 310 km/h.
Priced at around 10 billion VND, the Ferrari California still proves to be a worthy choice thanks to its design by Pininfarina, a naturally aspirated engine with an exhilarating sound, and performance suitable for both city cruising and spirited driving when a powerful experience is desired.
