Recently, BMW and Mercedes-Benz reported their electric car sales figures for Q3/2023.

In this quarter, the BMW Group, consisting of the brands BMW and Mini, achieved a combined total of 93,931 electric vehicle sales worldwide, which reflects a remarkable growth of 79.6% compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, the BMW brand itself sold 83,211 vehicles, witnessing a significant increase of 100.3% compared to the previous year. Moreover, BMW successfully sold a total of 217,138 electric vehicles in the first 9 months of this year.

Notably, BMW’s latest model, the BMW i4, has gained great popularity and has been highly acclaimed by consumers. Similarly, the new BMW i5 model is also receiving positive reviews and widespread acclaim.

Until the end of Q3, BMW had delivered a total of 545,941 vehicles to customers, indicating an impressive growth rate of 6.2% compared to the same period last year. Overall, BMW achieved a total sales figure of 1,621,267 vehicles in the first 9 months, displaying a remarkable growth rate of 5.7% compared to the previous year.

In terms of market performance, Asia has emerged as the largest consumer market for BMW and Mini in the past 9 months, with a total of 783,189 vehicles sold, marking a 2% increase compared to 2022. Following closely is the European market, with a total sales figure of 670,119 vehicles, and the American market with 338,093 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz brand has also experienced impressive growth. In Q3/2023 alone, a total of 61,600 pure electric Mercedes-Benz vehicles were sold, a remarkable increase of 66% compared to the same period last year.

This achievement can mainly be attributed to the success of the EQA and EQB models. Furthermore, the EQS and EQS SUV models have also garnered positive reviews and achieved a sales figure of 26,300 units.

In the first 9 months of this year, Mercedes-Benz achieved a total of 174,500 electric vehicle sales, marking an impressive growth rate of 82% compared to last year.

Although Mercedes-Benz’s total sales in Q3 decreased by 4% compared to the same period last year, the cumulative sales for the first 9 months reached 1,529,800 vehicles, reflecting a 2% growth compared to 2022.
