After the successful launch of the CR-V, Honda Vietnam has recently introduced the next-generation HR-V crossover, featuring a modern design, added features, and most notably the Honda Sensing safety package.

The design of the 2022 Honda HR-V has undergone a transformation, with new lines on the front, body, and rear of the car.

The most notable detail on the 2022 HR-V is the chrome-plated diamond-shaped grille. In addition, the LED headlights have been upgraded with a segmented design, similar to Honda sedans like the Accord or City.

Together with the new front bumper design, the 2022 HR-V is equipped with modern LED fog lights.

In terms of the body, the Honda HR-V 2022 has a completely different appearance, combining the characteristics of a coupe and a practical crossover, with a fastback tail design that exudes a sporty feel.

The size has increased compared to the previous version, giving it a modern, sporty, and imposing look. Specifically, the Honda HR-V has dimensions of LxWxH: 4,385 x 1,790 x 1,590 mm.

The wheels have also been upgraded to 18-inch dual-spoke alloy wheels, similar to those on the previous CR-V.

The rearview mirrors have been adjusted from the A pillar down to the door, minimizing blind spots and providing optimal visibility for the driver.

The tailgate spoiler features a sleek fastback design, complemented by a shark fin antenna to enhance the youthful and sporty atmosphere of the HR-V 2022.

Similar to the front lighting system, the rear brake lights have also undergone a complete “transformation” with a modern and beautifully segmented design.

At the bottom, the Honda HR-V 2022 features a dual exhaust pipe design that enhances its youthful and elegant appearance. Additionally, the rear bumper design is slim and similar to the front bumper.

Stepping into the Honda HR-V cabin, the interior space is designed with horizontal layers by Japanese designers, creating a spacious environment.

Similar to the newly released Honda Civic, the interior of the new HR-V conveys simplicity, tidiness, sophistication, modernity, and practicality.

At the center of the dashboard is an 8-inch infotainment screen, integrated with popular Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connections.

The steering wheel has also been redesigned, giving it a round, modern shape that creates an exhilarating feeling for the driver. With the Honda Sensing package, both steering wheel wings are equipped with intelligent function control buttons and entertainment information.

Behind the steering wheel are the sport mode shift paddles. The HR-V 2022 is also equipped with a 7-inch multi-information display, along with two modern round screens that provide very intuitive display capabilities.

Another valuable upgrade on the Honda HR-V 2022 is the air conditioning system. The control button cluster has been simplified with three round knobs, similar to many other Honda models such as the City, Civic, and Accord, creating a cohesive design across the company’s product lineup.

In the HR-V 2022, Honda has equipped the car with a dual-zone independent air conditioning system. Additionally, the air vents have been enhanced with three cooling modes. Of note, the diffusing mode allows airflow to flow along the ceiling or body, without blowing directly in passengers’ faces.

The rear seats feature ventilation vents and two convenient charging ports, providing comfort for passengers. Furthermore, the HR-V’s smart key has been enhanced with a remote start feature, allowing passengers to enjoy a cool space before stepping into the car.

The gearshift and electronic parking brake area have also been simplified, adding a modern touch to the 2022 Honda HR-V. Additionally, the car is equipped with three different driving modes for various operating conditions.

Convenient features have also been added to the Honda HR-V 2022, including leather seats with red stitching, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic rain-sensing wipers, and an auto-dimming mirror…

The rear seats have been redesigned to provide more space and visibility for passengers, with larger windows that create a spacious and comfortable atmosphere during the journey.

To increase flexibility when carrying luggage, the Honda HR-V can fold down in a 60:40 split in three different modes, allowing for the folding of the seatback as well as raising the seat surface straight up. This feature is the first of its kind in the segment.

As part of its initiative to promote modern safety features across its entire product range, Honda has equipped the Honda HR-V 2022 with the Honda Sensing package as standard in both versions. The package includes six features: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Adaptive Cruise Control – Low Speed Follow (ACC – LSF), Auto High-Beam (AHB), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).

In addition, the HR-V is also equipped with many other helpful features for driver and passenger support, such as Agile Handling Assist (AHA), Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control (HSA – HDC), Lane Watch Mode for increased side visibility, rear seat reminder function, as well as six airbags and ISOFIX child safety seat connections…

To enhance performance and provide excitement for both drivers and passengers, the Honda HR-V 2022 has been upgraded with a VTEC 1.5L turbocharged engine, similar to its sibling, the Civic.

Compared to the previous 1.8L naturally aspirated engine, the HR-V 2022 offers increased power with a maximum output of 174 HP and 240 Nm of torque when combined with the CVT transmission and front-wheel drive system.

In response to consumer feedback, Honda has made changes to minimize noise levels in the HR-V as much as possible. The engine mount bracket has been switched from aluminum to steel, and sound-absorbing materials have been added in various locations around the car.

Additionally, both the suspension and steering systems have been fine-tuned in the HR-V 2022, incorporating electric power-assisted steering to provide an exciting driving experience.

In the RS sport version, the 2022 Honda HR-V is equipped with the Honda Connect feature, enabling connectivity between the car and a smartphone. Honda Connect allows owners to easily store travel history, manage vehicle information, and access information and reminders for maintenance schedules, from anywhere with convenience.

Furthermore, in the event of the airbags being deployed, the call center will immediately contact the driver or relatives to confirm the passengers’ safety or notify the family as quickly as possible. For the first year, HR-V RS owners will receive a free subscription to the Honda Connect package.

In conclusion, with numerous valuable updates inside and out, the all-new Honda HR-V 2022 maintains the same price, starting from 826 million VND for the L version and 871 million VND for the RS version. It is expected to be a worthy competitor to other crossover models in its segment, such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai Tucson, and Mazda CX-30, which are priced under 1 billion VND.
