Instead of rushing to add features or constantly upgrading the design to the point of “chaos”, Toyota has taken a different approach with the Vios 2023. They have focused on adding two leading safety features within the Toyota Safety Sense package, an aspect that is often overlooked by other B-segment sedans.

A Leading Position in the Market

The Vios holds a leading position in the market, being the best-selling car in Vietnam for 8 years from 2014 to 2022, excluding 2021 due to the impact of the Covid pandemic.

What sets the Vios apart is its strong internal capabilities, offering qualities that truly stand out compared to its competitors. Its excellence lies in meeting the majority’s needs without aiming for the most youthful design, the most modern equipment, or the best driving experience. The Vios appeals to users of all ages, genders, and professions.

The Vios is a neutral yet harmonious and elegant car with a modern design. Its driving performance may not be the sharpest, but it is always smooth, comfortable, and durable over time. The features are not excessive, but they are complete and useful.

In other words, the Vios is a practical car that provides the core values needed in a B-segment sedan. Despite fierce competition and dynamic market conditions, the Vios has maintained its best-selling position in Vietnam.

Leading Safety Features

Japanese cars, especially Toyota, are known for their quality and durability. In August 2020, Toyota introduced the Corolla Cross with advanced driving support technology, bringing modern safety features to the popular car segment priced under 1 billion VND.

Now, the Vios has boldly adopted modern driving support features, leading the B-segment sedan segment in the 500-600 million VND price range.

The upgraded Toyota Vios 2023 is equipped with a hidden radar behind the front logo and a windshield camera to detect obstacles. It offers advance collision warning with brake assist and lane departure warning.

Although it lacks some features found in the Corolla Altis or Camry, such as a 360-degree camera, lane-keeping assist, or blind-spot warning, these two safety features are the most useful and frequently used.

Having these features alone already makes the Vios 2023 safer than its competitors. Additionally, the Vios 2023 comes standard with LED headlights while its competitors still use halogen headlights.

Modern Design Adjustments

In addition to leading safety features, the Toyota Vios 2023 has undergone design refinements to become more modern and youthful. The body and tail sections remain mostly unchanged, with changes focused on the front of the car.

The lighting system design has been sharpened, featuring impressive lines and intricate shapes. The new appearance of the Vios 2023 draws inspiration from the CH-R, a small crossover model from Toyota in the US market, or the domestic Corolla sibling in Japan.

Accompanying the new headlights is a lower and wider grille with an impressive glossy black tone. Compared to previous facelifts, the Vios 2023 has a truly innovative, fresh, and youthful appearance.

The wheel set has also been updated with a contrasting two-tone honeycomb shape, featuring an attractive and modern 6-spoke lightning design, despite maintaining a 15-inch size.

Incredibly Convenient and Modern Interior

The Toyota Vios 2023 offers a more modern and attractive interior. The driver’s seat, door armrests, center armrest, and steering wheel are replaced with synthetic PU material.

The synthetic leather provides a modern appearance with gloss and contrasting yellow stitching. The headrest and seat back have intricate and eye-catching designs. In terms of comfort, the seats offer a pleasant seating experience with moderate sinking and elasticity.

The upgraded version features a 9-inch touchscreen entertainment system with full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connections.

The car retains an analog-type meter but upgrades the screen to a color display for the lane departure warning and collision warning features.

Behind the steering wheel, the driver has quick-shift paddles to enhance the driving feel on slopes or during high-speed overtaking, despite the car using a CVT gearbox with virtual gear positions.

In the back, passengers have access to two additional Type-C USB charging ports. Although there are no rear air vents, the car’s air conditioning cools quickly and effectively, a strength of Toyota cars in general and the Vios in particular.

Durable and Reliable Performance

Under the hood, the Toyota Vios 2023 is equipped with the VTTi engine, offering 107 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque. The Vios may not excel in acceleration, but it reliably and rarely encounters faults even after decades of driving with high mileage.

The Vios has proven its capability to conquer any road in Vietnam, whether going up the mountains or down to the beach.

The car operates smoothly and comfortably in urban areas, and its popularity ensures easy maintenance and repair. Auxiliary parts replacements or upgrades are readily available at affordable prices. The large number of Vios cars on the streets also ensures good liquidity, an important factor for users.

In Conclusion, the Toyota Vios 2023 offers an appetizing upgrade with leading safety features and a more eye-catching appearance at an unchanged or reduced price.

The Vios is expected to maintain its position as the king in the B-segment sedan segment and a strong contender for the best-selling car of the year. The Vios does not need to be flashy or powerful; it simply satisfies the majority of domestic consumers, something the experienced Toyota brand has achieved consistently.

The sales figures in June 2023 speak for themselves, with the Toyota Vios 2023 easily surpassing its competitors and reclaiming the best-selling title with a record sales of 1,949 units. The Vios also made it to the top 5 best-selling cars in the Vietnamese market for the first half of 2023, alongside its sibling, the Corolla Cross.
