Graced with a personal inclination towards vehicles, Mr. Phu Quy from Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province, purchased a Craftsman 1924 bike for approximately $2,000 to satisfy his preferences. This motorized bicycle boasts a vintage design reminiscent of the Craftsman bikes from 1924.

The Craftsman 1924 bike measures 1850 mm in length and weighs 34 kg, slightly heavier than a regular bicycle due to the added engine. The handlebars are elegantly designed in a classic style, offering a more comfortable riding position. In Vietnam, most Craftsman 1924 motorized bikes are imported from China, bearing a design akin to the models created in 1924.

The bicycle employs vintage brakes (band brake) on both the front and rear. The gear adjuster is positioned on the left handlebar, allowing gear changes by simple turning. As for the brake and throttle, they can be found on the right handlebar.

The bike features 26-inch rims with relatively large tires compared to regular bikes, resulting in improved traction and comfort. Additionally, the tires showcase a classic white sidewall design.

Adding to its uniqueness, the front/rear suspension system of this motorized bike introduces 19th-century technical innovations. Specifically, the front suspension structure adopts a dual-arm double-piston mechanism, while a coil spring replaces the saddle’s suspension system.

The standout characteristic of this motorized bike is its 38cc 2-stroke engine, fueled by gasoline with a 4-liter capacity, affording a top speed of 45 km/h.

When in operation, the rider only needs to pedal the bike to ignite the 2-stroke engine. The engine transfers power through a belt, propelling the wheels to spin. This principle aligns with other renowned motorized bikes such as Mobylette and Vélosolex.

Based on observations from various e-commerce websites, the average price for a Craftsman 1924 2-stroke motorized bike hovers around $2,000 (equivalent to 46.3 million Vietnamese Dong), and it is available in 4 different colors.
