Future Mitsubishi Xforce to Feature Advanced Safety Technology

The Mitsubishi Xforce has entered the competitive small SUV market, bringing with it a sleek and modern interior design and a tough, off-road ready appearance. However, one area where the Xforce falls short is its lack of advanced safety features.

The Mitsubishi Xforce currently comes equipped with 6 standard airbags, blind spot warning (BSW), and rear cross traffic alert (RCTA). However, rival models like the Honda HR-V offer a more comprehensive ADAS package, including features like adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane-keeping assist (LKA). Mitsubishi acknowledges the importance of these advanced safety features and is considering adding them in the future.

In an interview at the 2023 Gaikindo International Auto Show (GIIAS) in Indonesia, Mr. Masahiro Ito, the Product Specialist Director of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), stated, “We are considering adding more ADAS features in the future, but I cannot provide an exact timeline. We have already included some ADAS features like BSW and RCTA from the beginning, and we plan to add more features in the future.”

In the Indonesian market, the 2024 Mitsubishi Xforce is available in two versions: the standard Exceed CVT with a starting price of 382.5 million Rupiah and the high-end Ultimate CVT with a starting price of 419.1 million Rupiah, which is equivalent to 593 million VND and 650 million VND, respectively. The price of the Mitsubishi Xforce in Vietnam is expected to be around 700-800 million VND.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Xforce showcases a rugged and elegant exterior design based on the “Smooth and Rugged” concept, making it suitable for both urban and off-road driving in the ASEAN region.

The front grille features a sporty Dynamic Shield style, and the T-shaped daytime running lights combine the L-shaped LED positioning lights with striking cutting lines. The rear lights are also designed in a T-shape to enhance the stability and width of the vehicle.

The Mitsubishi Xforce offers the highest ground clearance (222 mm) in its segment and comes with 18-inch wheels fitted with large diameter tires, providing enhanced stability on rough roads.

The central control panel employs a horizontal axis design concept, which expands the field of vision in front and extends the design to both sides, creating a spacious atmosphere within the cabin.

The interior of the car prioritizes practicality. It features a large 12.3-inch infotainment screen paired with an 8-inch digital information display that offers an intuitive interface.

For the first time, the Xforce is equipped with the Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system, developed in collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors and Yamaha. This audio system boasts eight speakers, including tweeters on both sides of the A-pillar, front door woofers, and dual-coaxial speakers in the rear doors.

Powering the car is a 1.5L, 4-cylinder engine delivering a maximum output of 105 PS and a maximum torque of 141 Nm, coupled with a CVT transmission.

Mitsubishi Motors has introduced four-wheel control technology to the 2WD front-wheel drive Xforce for the first time. This technology optimizes the performance of this compact SUV. The four driving modes (Normal Road, Slippery Road, Gravel Road, Muddy Road) allow drivers to choose the most suitable mode based on the specific road conditions, in conjunction with Active Yaw Control (AYC).

The Slippery Road mode is specifically designed to enhance stability when driving on slippery surfaces due to rain or flooded roads. This mode helps minimize the risk of skidding, delivering a secure and confident driving experience.
