GSM is set to launch its electric taxi service in Laos in 2023. The plan includes a fleet of up to 1,000 VF 5 Plus and VF e34 cars. The company aims to develop a complete service ecosystem, including electric car rentals and value-added services such as package booking, travel booking, and personalized car booking.

In addition to its own operations, GSM Laos Company will also engage in B2B activities such as selling and renting VinFast electric cars, similar to the successful model implemented in Vietnam.

GSM aims to promote the use of green, smart, and environmentally friendly means of transportation in Laos. Through their Xanh SM taxi service, they will provide local residents with a premium travel experience without noise or emissions, contributing to promoting the pride of Vietnam – VinFast in the regional market.

Laos has policies in place to support and encourage the use of electric vehicles. The national target is to have 30% of the total vehicles be electric cars and 200 public charging stations by 2030. As of the end of 2022, there were 1,326 registered electric cars in circulation in Laos, and an additional 526 electric cars were imported in the first four months of 2023. The charging station system in Laos is also being developed, with 17 locations already operational.

GSM was established in Vietnam in April 2023 and has achieved significant growth in a short period of time. They have carried out over 6 million passenger transport trips and received positive feedback from consumers and transportation units.

The company plans to expand its presence in Vietnam and increase the fleet size to 30,000 electric taxis and over 90,000 electric motorcycles by the end of 2023. They also have plans to expand to the ASEAN market and contribute to a green future for humanity.
