Mercedes-AMG is introducing the new generation of their high-performance GLC crossover models, which will be available in two versions: GLC 43 and GLC 63 S E Performance. The GLC 53 version has been discontinued.
Following the launch of the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLC in the Vietnamese market, the luxury car brand is now presenting the high-performance versions of this compact luxury crossover model. The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 2024 and GLC 63 S E Performance 2025 will soon be available in various markets worldwide.
The standard AMG GLC 43 version will feature a twin-turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine paired with a mild hybrid system, delivering a total of 416 horsepower and an additional 13 horsepower from the integrated starter-generator (ISG) system at low speeds. The car is equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the renowned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, AMG Ride Control air suspension with adaptive dampers, and rear-wheel steering capability, similar to its sibling, the AMG E63.
The higher-end AMG GLC 63 S E Performance version is equipped with a powerful “heart” – a twin-turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine combined with an electric motor on the rear axle, delivering a maximum power output of up to 671 horsepower and 1,020 Nm of torque. The twin-turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine alone, as mentioned before, produces an impressive output of 469 horsepower and 545 Nm of pulling force, making it the most powerful inline 4-cylinder engine in the world!
Thanks to these features, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 km/h. Similar to the GLC 43, the GLC 63 S E Performance is equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission and, notably, the top-level 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, which can vary the torque distribution between the front and rear axles, and transfer 100% of the pulling force to the rear wheels.
The high-performance versions of the GLC 43 and GLC 63 duo exhibit the typical AMG design. The most remarkable design element is the radiator grille, which features vertically arranged slats and additional horizontally recessed slats, forming a diamond pattern.
The front air intake and the front bumper have also been extended to optimize the vehicle’s cooling capacity. The rear end is adorned with a rear wing on the trunk lid, rear side air vents, and dual tailpipes on each side, along with an extremely sharp front splitter.
The car features a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and luxurious wheels with exclusive AMG multi-spoke design rims. The eye-catching yellow-painted disc brakes and branded Michelin tires add to the overall luxury. Of course, the vehicle is also equipped with side skirts.
Inside the cabin, the AMG GLC offers a luxurious interior space with standard high-quality MB-tex and composite fiber material upholstery. Customers also have the option to choose premium Nappa leather seats with engraved AMG logos on the headrests, or even opt for sporty Performance seats for their beloved cars.
The MBUX infotainment system, also present in the standard GLC models, is enhanced with exclusive features by German engineers. These include a new AMG interface on the cluster behind the steering wheel, the main display, and the windshield HUD. The system is also equipped with AMG Track Pace, allowing users to record the entire vehicle’s operation data for competitive purposes on the racetrack.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 2024 will be available in the US market in early next year, followed by the release of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance at the end of the same year. However, no pricing information has been disclosed yet.
In Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz has already launched the new generation GLC, with prices starting from 2.3 billion VND and featuring a range of luxurious equipment. Many dealerships are also offering attractive promotions and discounts for the remaining units of the previous GLC version.
