The Hyundai Santa Fe has undergone a complete redesign for the first time since 2018, generating significant interest among car enthusiasts. Last week, Hyundai unveiled the initial official images of the new Santa Fe. While focusing solely on the external and internal appearance, Hyundai has yet to make any official announcements regarding the available engine options for this model.
Recently, a camouflaged version of the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe was spotted in South Korea, featuring the words “Plug In” on its rear end, hinting at the availability of a plug-in hybrid variant. This version is expected to combine a 1.6 Turbo engine with an electric motor. However, details regarding the Santa Fe Hybrid’s battery pack remain undisclosed at the moment.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has undergone a complete redesign. The new model boasts a boxy design with several elements reminiscent of Land Rovers. Noteworthy features include new H-shaped headlights and an overall premium appearance, catering to outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts, according to Hyundai.
Hyundai highlights the unique H-shaped headlight cluster on the front of the car. This H-pattern is also present on the grille and rear bumper, creating a cohesive look. The pronounced wheel arches hint at the vehicle’s superb driving performance, while the 21-inch alloy wheels give the new Santa Fe a more imposing presence.
The Korean automaker emphasizes that the fifth-generation crossover provides ample cargo space, thanks to its long wheelbase and large rear trunk. Although the interior volume has not been revealed, Hyundai claims that the fully foldable second and third rows of seats will offer “class-leading spaciousness”.
Contrasting with its robust and athletic exterior, the interior flaunts an elegant design. The H-pattern motif carries over to the cabin aesthetics. The brightly colored seats and ceiling contribute to an overall sense of spaciousness. Additionally, the premium interior incorporates elements such as soft wood patterns or intricate embroidered seats, adding a touch of sophistication to the Santa Fe.
In terms of equipment and technology, the new Santa Fe features a curved screen cluster that comprises a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system.
Detailed technical specifications of the 2024 Santa Fe are expected to be fully disclosed during Hyundai’s global launch event, which will be broadcasted on the company’s YouTube channel in August.
