The KIA Carnival Facelift is set to receive a major upgrade, both inside and out, including the addition of a hybrid transmission system. The release date for this new version of the car is anticipated to be towards the end of the year.
The exterior design of the Kia Carnival Facelift has been inspired by the EV9 model. This is evident in the new vertical LED headlights, as well as the striking horizontal LED daytime running lights.
At the rear, the LED taillights feature an inverted L-shaped design, which is a departure from the horizontal taillights found on the current version.
The trim on the C-pillar remains unchanged, but the Carnival facelift will come with new wheels that have a more dynamic design.
Some of the highlights of the new Carnival include automatic sliding doors, a panoramic sunroof, a spacious interior, and an SUV-inspired design language. It also boasts a range of features and technical specifications, as well as a technology-filled interior with an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS).
As for the engine options, the Kia Carnival facelift is expected to retain the same choices as the current version. In South Korea, the 4th generation Carnival is available with either a 3.5L gasoline engine or a 2.2L diesel engine.
However, there are rumors suggesting that the updated Carnival will also offer a hybrid variant, similar to the one found in the Kia Sorento. The Sorento Hybrid currently produces a combined power output of 227 horsepower, while the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid delivers 261 horsepower. Both models feature a T-GDi 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and different capacity batteries.
In addition to the engine upgrades, Kia will also introduce some new features to the facelift version that were not available when the 4th generation Carnival was launched. These may include a heads-up display (HUD) screen, Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), a pair of curved 12-inch screens, fingerprint recognition, and Ergo Motion Seats from the EV9 model, among others.
The official launch of the Kia Carnival 2024 is expected to take place in South Korea later this year, followed by its availability in other markets at the beginning of next year.
