Kia has announced that it will showcase two new all-electric concept models at the upcoming EV Day event. The event will also feature the unveiling of the compact SUV model, EV5, along with detailed specifications and future plans of the company. Kia has recently released images and videos that introduce their expanding lineup of electric vehicles, including “three new midsize and compact electric vehicles”.
Leaked photos reveal the first model, located on the left, to be the current Kia EV6 GT. Adjacent to it is a stylish coupe-sedan with crossover design elements and vertical LED headlights, representing one of the new concepts for future production models. In the center, the distinct shape and lighting of the new compact SUV EV5 can be seen, alongside what is believed to be the upcoming small SUV EV4 and the large electric SUV EV9.
Additionally, detailed specifications of the all-new EV5 will be announced after its production debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in China last August.
One of the upcoming electric models is expected to replace the Sportage and will feature a length of 4,615 mm, utilizing the E-GMP architecture. The vehicle specifications may vary based on the region, with the Chinese version anticipated to house a front-mounted electric motor generating 215 horsepower and utilizing energy from BYD’s lithium iron phosphate Blade battery.
The anticipated Kia EV Day event will be held in Yeoju, South Korea on October 12th, where these exciting new models will be unveiled.
