Lexus has recently unveiled the 2024 LS variant for the US market, featuring several noteworthy updates. The exterior now boasts a new Silver Illusion paint color and is complemented by five exclusive wheel designs and colors.
Inside the cabin, the LS 500 comes equipped with a new standard smart wireless phone charger. Additionally, it features a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, HUD screen, and digital key technology.
Furthermore, the LS 500 is equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 driver assistance system, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Active Steering Assist, and Pre-Collision Warning system with pedestrian detection. It also boasts an Emergency Steering Assist system which gradually brings the vehicle to a stop in emergency situations on the highway if the driver fails to respond.
Notably, the Luxury and Executive packages now feature a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with wooden accents.
The starting price for the 2024 Lexus LS is $80,685, an increase of $1,950. However, considering the added features, this price increase is justified.
While full equipment details have yet to be announced by Lexus, the base LS 500 comes with LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, hands-free power trunk lid, sunroof, and 19-inch wheels.
The interior of the LS 500 showcases a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 12.3-inch Lexus Interface infotainment system with cloud-based navigation and voice assistant. It also offers heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable and power-retractable sunshades, and a 12-speaker audio system.
Powering the vehicle is a twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine, delivering a maximum power of 416 horsepower and a peak torque of 599 Nm. It comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, with the option of all-wheel drive. Lexus claims the sedan can accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately 4.6 seconds.
For customers seeking an eco-friendly option, the 2024 LS 500h is available at a starting price of $115,560, an increase of $725. This version retains the previous Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 driver assistance technology and introduces the Teammate semi-automated driving system.
The LS 500h is powered by a hybrid 3.5L V6 engine, delivering a combined power of 354 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds and achieves a top speed of 203 km/h.
