During the seasons of spring to autumn in New York, impermanence is a constant presence. Take, for instance, the old Cadillac that stands on a Brooklyn street, covered in rust and dust, a remnant of the past. According to the New York Daily News, this 1970 Caddy limousine has been abandoned since 1994, left behind by its elderly owner who was critically ill.
Over the years, the Cadillac has become an iconic landmark in the area, attracting regular visits from curious tourists. In a surprising turn of events, the car even received a brand-new quality certification sticker from the authorities. However, a frustrated resident, perhaps tired of this “icon” occupying a scarce parking space in New York, filed a complaint.
The interior of the cramped car is filled with old belongings, frozen in time.
Despite the lack of a valid reason, the local authorities made the decision to tow the car from its resting spot after 25 years. This action has sparked discontent among many residents in the community.
“The car is like a symbol of our community here. Anyone who complains about it and wants it gone just for a parking spot can simply pack up and leave,” shared an anonymous individual with the New York Daily News.
