The Toyota EPU is an all-electric pickup truck that has been developed on a monocoque platform. It will be a direct competitor to the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.

The Toyota EPU will be one of the highlight models showcased at the Japan Motor Show 2023, which will take place from October 26th to November 5th. This compact all-electric pickup truck has been designed with a monocoque chassis.

According to the official announcement, the Toyota EPU features a double cab pickup design with 5 seats. It has an overall length of approximately 5 meters and a wheelbase of 3.35 meters. The width and height are around 1.8 meters. These dimensions are similar to those of other compact gasoline-powered pickup trucks like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. The cargo bed is relatively small, but it has a square-fold opening that allows for expanded storage space when needed.

Inside the cabin, the Toyota EPU showcases a futuristic design with a spacious and modern interior. It features a large display screen, a minimalist control panel, and a rectangular steering wheel.

Toyota has not yet disclosed detailed information about the performance and equipment of the EPU. However, the presence of off-road tires suggests that this electric pickup truck will likely have a dual-motor drivetrain.
