With the aim of promoting and developing the Motorsports movement in Vietnam, Redline Motorsports Club organized the launch event of the Racing Club in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was supported by the representative office for the FIA World Motorsport Federation, VMA company, Vietnam Sports Car Association, and the local Motorsports community.
Although the Formula 1 race in Vietnam was postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the participation in this prestigious race laid the foundation for the growth of car racing in Vietnam. Motorsports, which refers to high-speed car races compliant with the regulations of the FIA World Motorsport Federation, is gaining popularity.
During the launch event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh, Chairman of Redline Motorsports Club, emphasized the goal of establishing a racing culture in Vietnam. He described the event as a Motorsports workshop that aimed to attract a large number of participants. However, Motorsports is not widely recognized in Vietnam. To build a solid foundation for Motorsports, it is important not only to develop racing teams but also to have individuals ready to take on roles such as supervisors, referees, and organizers. Therefore, this workshop aimed to provide sports car enthusiasts with the necessary information to contribute to the development of the Motorsports movement.
The event was well-attended, with representatives from the media, the FIA World Motorsport Federation, and VMA company sharing their insights. They highlighted the need for the wider and deeper development of Motorsports in Vietnam. The establishment of racing clubs serves as a starting point for the professional development of Motorsports in the country. In addition to promoting racing discipline according to international standards, racing clubs also play a crucial role in spreading racing culture and promoting safe driving awareness.
Redline Motorsports Club, founded in May 2020, focuses on selecting and training racers according to international standards. The club aims to popularize the Auto Gymkhana (Motorkhana) racing format, which is accessible to car owners. In 2021, the club plans to organize seven races in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, attracting a lot of interest from racing enthusiasts.
