The new generation of Hyundai Santa Fe has come as a pleasant surprise to those who are already acquainted with the esteemed SUV lineup from the South Korean car manufacturer.

The Santa Fe has undergone an upgrade that has removed all the sporty design features to make the boxy design cool again.

Crossovers and SUVs are known for their spaciousness, practicality, and power. But can they also achieve the performance of a sports car?

Hyundai’s designer Nicola Danza believed that SUVs should maintain their distinct design language and not try to imitate sports cars.

According to Danza, many SUV models today tend to have similar designs as they strive to adopt sports SUV aesthetics, which they were not originally designed for.

To challenge this trend, Danza and Hyundai’s design team set out to create a car that defies the common design trends. The goal was to make the Santa Fe more practical by adopting a boxier and cooler design.

Danza admitted being inspired by other automakers, including Jeep, which is also pursuing a boxy design language in an increasingly electrified industry.

What do you think of the new design of the Hyundai Santa Fe? Personally, I find it impressive with its masculine, strong, and attractive appearance. It is expected to make a big impact once it arrives in Vietnam.
