This test prototype appears to be the commercial version of the Kia Carnival facelift. In this update, the Kia Carnival may feature a new design inspired by the EV9. The facelifted Carnival will showcase vertical LED headlights alongside horizontal LED daytime running lights, giving it a fresh look compared to its previous version.
Moreover, the standout feature of the Kia Carnival 2024 is its striking wheel design, reminiscent of concept car models.
While the rear end of the Kia Carnival 2024 remains hidden under camouflage, we can observe the distinct L-shaped LED taillights, a departure from the horizontal taillights on the current version.
The new Carnival will continue to offer automatic sliding doors, a sunroof, a spacious interior, an SUV-inspired design language, and a comprehensive range of features and technological advancements, including the ADAS system.
Regarding the engine options, it is likely that the Kia Carnival facelift will retain the same choices as the current version. In Korea, the fourth generation Kia Carnival is available with a 3.5L gasoline engine and a 2.2L diesel engine.
However, there are rumors suggesting that the enhanced Kia Carnival might feature a hybrid option, potentially inherited from the Kia Sorento. The Sorento Hybrid currently delivers a combined total output of 227 horsepower, while the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid provides 261 horsepower. Both models utilize a T-GDi 1.6-liter turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor and batteries of varying capacities.
In addition, this facelift version of the Kia Carnival will incorporate additional equipment that was not available when the fourth generation Carnival was initially launched. These new features may encompass a HUD screen, Highway Drive Assist 2 (HDA2) driving assistance, a pair of curved 12-inch screens, fingerprint recognition, and Ergo Motion Seats from the EV9 concept.
The Kia Carnival 2024 is anticipated to be officially launched in South Korea towards the end of this year, followed by other markets at the beginning of next year.
