In recent years, there has been speculation that the upcoming Mazda6 will feature rear-wheel drive and draw inspiration from the Mazda Vision Coupe concept. Unveiled in 2017, this concept model showcases a sleek design with a long hood, short rear deck, and coupe-like side profile.

Despite Mazda not confirming any details about the drivetrain, the car’s appealing proportions suggest that it may come equipped with a longitudinally mounted engine and rear-wheel drive. With the Japanese automaker already confirming a rear-wheel drive architecture for its next-generation SUVs, it’s reasonable to assume that the new Mazda6 will also adopt this configuration.

While we wait for official information, graphic designer Theophilus Chin has created a rendering of the next-gen Mazda6. Instead of starting from scratch, Chin took inspiration from the current generation of the BMW 5 Series G60, which is known for its inline-six engines.

Based on the rendering, we can see that the next-generation Mazda6 exudes an elegant, luxurious, and captivating appearance. Compared to the current model, the new Mazda6 has undergone significant redesigns, including a new grille, updated front fascia, modern headlights, and revised air intakes. The rear of the car has also been refined with restyled taillights.

According to Japan’s Best Car magazine, the next-generation Mazda6 will not adhere to the traditional sedan formula but will instead adopt a four-door coupe design with a striking appearance, serving as the epitome of Kodo design. It is expected to be launched around 2025.

Looking at the Vietnamese car market right now and humorously comparing it, we will see Camry as a well-behaved young girl, not outstanding in every aspect but easily becoming the choice of the “other half”. Teana, on the other hand, is like a dignified and tranquil woman, full of courage. Meanwhile, Mazda6 is like a hot girl, quickly attracting and captivating anyone’s gaze from the first encounter. As for Accord – with the elegance and experiences of a U30 lady, even though she is always praised by everyone, she hides something “difficult to deal with” in the minds of the majority.
