The forthcoming upgrade of the Toyota Fortuner is expected to feature a more robust and sleek exterior design compared to its current version. Toyota has adopted a fresh design language for its new generation of SUV models, as seen in the Tacoma model available in the US market. The next-generation Fortuner, along with the Hilux, is likely to follow a similar style. Taking inspiration from this concept, Pratyush Rout has created a design prototype for the 2024 Toyota Fortuner.

Notable changes can be observed in the front grille, headlights, and LED daytime running lights. The new Fortuner projects a more rugged and muscular appearance with its prominent air vents and wider skid plate. In fact, this updated version of the Fortuner boasts an aggressive look, ready to conquer any terrain. Furthermore, the car’s body features sharp and bold lines throughout.

The masculine and rugged aesthetic of the new Fortuner is further accentuated by the hood design, wheel arches, door design, and robust body cladding. The vehicle also incorporates metal skid plates at the front and rear to enhance its overall strength.

The interior of the 2024 Toyota Fortuner remains shrouded in mystery, but significant upgrades are expected. Ventilated front seats, a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, soft plastic interior materials, and multi-zone climate control are anticipated. Users can also look forward to technological advancements, such as smart connectivity features. Additionally, a range of advanced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will enhance the vehicle’s safety.

Due to Toyota’s TNGA-F platform, the new Fortuner will offer a more spacious interior. This platform is also utilized in the Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Lexus LX.

Under the hood, the 2024 Fortuner will feature an electrified powertrain. This powertrain comprises a 2.8L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine combined with hybrid technology. Detailed information regarding performance is still undisclosed. However, Toyota anticipates that the addition of mild-hybrid technology will result in approximately 10% more fuel efficiency compared to the non-hybrid variant. Considering the strict global emission standards, an electrified powertrain is imperative for the Fortuner.
