The next generation of the Toyota Hilux is set to be launched next year, with its SUV counterpart, the Fortuner, potentially hitting the market at the end of next year or in 2025. The vehicle is expected to undergo significant changes both in terms of its exterior and interior features.

There are currently many rumors circulating about the all-new Fortuner, with some speculating that its design will take inspiration from the latest Tacoma pickup. Recent renderings from the Q Cars channel have generated significant anticipation for this mid-size D-segment SUV.

The front face of the vehicle has been given a full redesign, featuring bold headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, a rugged skid plate, and square wheel arches, all complemented by black accents that contribute to the car’s unmistakably bold and aggressive appearance. Additionally, the vehicle boasts an expanded air intake and a larger front grille, prominently displaying the Toyota logo at the center.

Other notable exterior highlights include a larger body, a sloping roofline, dual-directional LED taillights, a revamped rear tailgate, and an updated rear bumper featuring a stepped exhaust system.

Inside the cabin, a more luxurious experience awaits, with a larger touchscreen infotainment display, enhanced connectivity options, and improved safety technologies.

Thanks to Toyota’s TNGA-F platform, the new generation Fortuner will offer a more spacious interior for passengers. This platform is also utilized in models such as the Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Lexus LX.

Under the hood, the 2024 Fortuner will come equipped with an electrified powertrain, combining a 2.8L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with hybrid technology. Detailed performance specifications have yet to be unveiled. However, Toyota estimates that the addition of mild-hybrid technology will result in approximately 10% improved fuel efficiency compared to the non-hybrid variant. In compliance with stringent global emission standards, an electrified powertrain is an essential component for the Fortuner’s future.
