Currently, the journey to conquer the Gobi Desert in China by a wealthy man from Hai Phong – the owner of Vietnam’s first genuine Porsche 911 Dakar – has entered its second month.
This wealthy individual, along with his beloved Porsche 911 Dakar valued at nearly 16 billion VND, has conquered various terrains, from deserts to snowy roads, traveling more than 600 corners on the Pamir Plateau in China and even crossing water.
Recently, the owner of the Porsche 911 Dakar shared a video of this sports car speeding through a stream, attracting significant attention from the online community.
Prior to allowing the sports car to “cross the water”, its owner likely conducted a trial using a Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 to carefully measure the water level. However, it is impossible to deny the adventurous spirit of this wealthy individual from Hai Phong.
This Porsche, owned by the Hai Phong tycoon, returned to Vietnam in August. This is the first authentic 911 Dakar in Vietnam and one of only 2,500 cars produced worldwide.
This Porsche 911 Dakar has the serial number 1,904, which coincidentally matches the owner’s date of birth.
The car is developed based on the platform of the standard 911 Carrera but has been upgraded to tackle various terrains. Porsche has fine-tuned the car’s suspension system, raised the ground clearance by 80 mm compared to the regular 911 versions, reaching 200 mm.
When activating the Off-road High Level mode, the ground clearance will increase by 30 mm. As a result, this model possesses ground clearance and operating angles in terrain that are no less impressive than those of regular SUVs, enabling the car to handle high speed bumps and speed bumps without worrying about hitting the undercarriage. This mode will automatically disengage when the car exceeds 170 km/h.
This car features several personalized details according to the owner’s preferences, including a signature on the door sill, additional rollover protection, roof rack, day running LED lights, and other accessories for off-road driving.
In terms of the interior, the car is equipped with full amenities. However, the rear seats have been completely removed to reduce weight, and the front seats are sport seats. These seats are wrapped in smooth leather combined with Race-tex material.
Some notable equipment in this car includes a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a mechanical and digital combination behind the steering wheel, an electronic display, a Bose sound system, and dual-zone automatic air conditioning…
In addition, the Hai Phong tycoon has spent nearly 30 million VND on adding yellow-colored seat belts for safety reasons.
Powering the Porsche 911 Dakar is a 3.0L 6-cylinder boxer engine with a capacity of 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. It is combined with an 8-speed PDK automatic gearbox and AWD drivetrain. With this power, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
