The Vietnam Motorcycle Racing Championship (VMRC) is an annual racing tournament organized by Honda Vietnam Company Limited (HVN) in collaboration with the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorcycle Federation. Over the years, VMRC has become the premier event for improving the quality and professionalism of motorcycle racing in the country. Let’s take a look back at some of the notable highlights from the first stage held in June, where young and talented racers showcased their skills.
In the young talent category, the Vietnam Talent Cup (NSF100) featured impressive performances from promising young riders. With ages ranging from 13 to 17, these riders delivered awe-inspiring performances, securing podium positions for Nguyen Trung Kien, Perez Pham Jordi Nam, and Tran Ngo Khoa. This marked a significant improvement compared to their previous performances in VMRC 2022. Kien and Khoa, who finished fifth and sixth respectively in the stage 1 of VMRC 2022, achieved top-ranking positions this year. Notably, the participation of racers from Taiwan, including Perez Pham Jordi Nam, demonstrated the international appeal of the national motorcycle racing championship.
In the semi-professional category, the first stage of VMRC 2023 witnessed thrilling battles filled with dramatic turns and twists.
– The Blade 110cc category saw a surprising victory from Hoang Van Thanh, who participated in a professional championship for the first time. Despite being a newcomer, Thanh impressed the audience by overtaking experienced racers after 8 intense and thrilling laps.
– Tran Gia Huy, a racer from the young talent group in VMRC 2022, showcased his maturity in the Winner X 150 category. He made a remarkable breakthrough in the first stage, claiming the top spot on the podium. Huy’s promising talent promises even more success in his racing career in the upcoming stages.
– The CBR150R category witnessed the pursuit and outstanding breakthroughs of the “race artists.” The top 3 racers, known for their experience and skills, engaged in intense battles, exchanging blows throughout the rounds. Noteworthy is Nguyen Vu Thanh, who finished sixth but, through dedicated training, managed to secure a podium spot, proving that “nothing is impossible.”
In the professional category, the most experienced and skilled riders came together to showcase their talents. After 12 rounds of racing, Huynh Minh Sang from Dream Racing Club emerged as the overall champion, demonstrating his unwavering ability. Sang’s progress from a third-place finish in the previous year highlighted his maturity and growing strength, placing him on the prestigious podium.
The impressive results from the first stage affirm the careful selection of riders by experts and the determination of each racer to achieve victory. The participation of young riders and their self-improvement serves as evidence of the organizers’ decision to expand the age limit for racers in this year’s season.
Alongside the nurturing of talented young racers who develop their skills and accumulate real racing experience from an early age, VMRC aims to foster a new generation of professional racers. Stage 2 of VMRC 2023 is set to commence on July 23, 2023, promising even more excitement in Binh Duong with memorable and thrilling performances across the three categories: Young Talent, Semi-professional, and Professional.
