The MotoGP championship has gained global recognition among speed enthusiasts since its inception. The exceptional performance of riders, intense competition on every race track, and the professional organization have made MotoGP immensely popular. In 2019, the championship featured 19 races at renowned tracks worldwide, spanning from March 10, 2019, to November 17, 2019. Honda Vietnam (HVN) takes immense pride in its continued sponsorship and partnership with the Repsol Honda Team, thereby introducing MotoGP and the sport of motorcycle racing to Vietnamese fans throughout the 2019 season.
Aligned with the brand motto “The Power of Dreams” and a mindset geared towards embracing challenges, HVN consistently strives to create new value that brings maximum customer satisfaction. Accordingly, HVN not only focuses on diverse product development but also makes continued efforts to cultivate the racing culture in Vietnam. To this end, HVN has actively engaged in various sponsorship, support, and promotional activities over the past four years, contributing to the resurgence of passion for speed among Vietnamese enthusiasts.
Since 2016, HVN has been proud sponsors of the Repsol Honda Team, and their collaboration has enabled diverse initiatives bringing MotoGP and the world of motorcycle racing closer to the Vietnamese audience. Notably, HVN has partnered with Honda Authorized Dealerships (HEAD) across the nation to broadcast all 19 races of the 2019 MotoGP season live in numerous provinces and cities throughout Vietnam. Furthermore, HVN continues to sponsor the Vietnamese language broadcast of MotoGP 2019 on Fox Sport and Fox Sport 2. This season marks a milestone as all MotoGP races were sponsored and broadcasted with Vietnamese commentary, as opposed to only a few prominent races in previous years.
With a steadfast commitment to supporting the Repsol Honda Team and Honda’s participation in the 2019 MotoGP championship, HVN takes immense pride in Honda’s prestigious Triple Crown achievement. Honda secured the Rider Champion, Team Champion, and Manufacturer Champion titles, becoming the only manufacturer among the four major brands (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Ducati) to accomplish this feat. This victory marks Honda’s third consecutive Triple Crown since 2017, bringing their total tally to nine. As the MotoGP 2019 season came to a close, Honda emerged as the first manufacturer to win the Triple Crown consecutively, underscoring their dominance in the sport.
– Race 15 (held on October 6, 2019, at Chang International Circuit, Thailand) – MotoGP 2019 Rider Champion: Repsol Honda Team’s rider, Marc Marquez (#93), clinched the 2019 MotoGP championship after just 15 races, amassing an impressive 325 points. This marked Marquez’s fourth consecutive championship title and his sixth overall in his distinguished career. Notably, Marc Marquez holds the distinction of being the youngest ever MotoGP world champion. Furthermore, he broke records by accumulating 420 points this season, becoming the first rider in MotoGP history to amass over 400 points in a single season. As of the conclusion of the 2019 season, Marc Marquez holds the second-highest podium record in Honda’s history and the fourth-highest in MotoGP history with 95 victories.
– Race 16 (held on October 20, 2019, at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan) – MotoGP 2019 Manufacturer Champion: Honda, represented by the Repsol Honda Team and satellite teams (LCR Honda Idemitsu and LCR Honda Castrol), secured the coveted Manufacturer Championship with 426 points. Ducati secured the second place with 318 points, followed by Yamaha with 321 points and Suzuki with 234 points. With this victory, Honda has now amassed a total of 25 championship titles in MotoGP.

This triumph cemented the Triple Crown for Honda in the 2019 season.
Honda secured a clean sweep of all three titles – Rider, Team, and Manufacturer – in the MotoGP 2019 season. The 2019 season also marked the official retirement of the legendary five-time world champion, Jorge Lorenzo, from professional racing. Lorenzo concluded his illustrious career adorned in the colors of the Repsol Honda Team, donning the number 99.
As we enter the MotoGP 2020 season, Alex Marquez, the younger brother of Marc Marquez, and a current competitor in the Moto2 category, will join the Repsol Honda Team under a one-year contract. This personnel change promises to inject fresh excitement and possibilities into the 2020 season. HVN eagerly looks forward to continued support and love from all enthusiasts during the upcoming racing events.
