The Honda CR-V 2023 test prototype still remains heavily disguised in its latest appearance. However, it is highly likely that the car will share a similar design with the global version that was released last year. Variations might come in terms of its equipment and amenities.

Earlier, in March 2023, Honda Malaysia announced their plans to introduce four new models in the country this year, with the CR-V being one of them. With the third quarter of the year coming to an end, it is highly anticipated that the new CR-V will be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The 6th generation of the Honda CR-V was globally unveiled in July last year. Compared to its predecessor, the new CR-V is longer and wider, providing a more spacious cabin and an additional 15mm of legroom in the rear seats.

Recently, the new Honda CR-V 2023 6th generation was officially showcased in Indonesia at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023. In the Indonesian market, the Honda CR-V 2023 is available in two versions: the 1.5L VTEC Turbo starting at 739.9 million IDR (equivalent to 1.15 billion VND) and the 2.0L RS e:HEV priced at 799.9 million IDR (1.25 billion VND), which is significantly higher than the previous version.

Both versions feature almost identical exteriors with a standard equipment list that includes LED headlights with sequential turn signals, LED front fog lights, LED taillights, and 19-inch black alloy wheels. The premium version adds adaptive headlights, roof rails in the same color as the car body, an aerodynamic body kit, and black mirror caps for a contrasting look.

The main difference lies in the powertrain options. The standard version is equipped with a 1.5L inline 4-cylinder VTEC Turbo engine, producing 190 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, combined with front-wheel drive and a CVT transmission. Meanwhile, the Honda CR-V RS is equipped with a hybrid e:HEV 2.0L powertrain, delivering a maximum power of 207 horsepower and a maximum torque of 335 Nm.

Standard interior features include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.0-inch touch screen infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging.

The RS variant adds a Bose 12-speaker sound system, sport pedals, red stitching, and more. The advanced Honda Sensing driver assistance system is standard on both variants.
