The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 has made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show and is expected to be available at U.S. dealerships in March 2024.
In its latest generation, the Hyundai Santa Fe showcases an exclusive design with sharp lines and angular accents, departing from its previous softer curves and flowing surfaces. The new model catches the eye with its distinctive H-shaped headlights and angular fender extensions.
The designers have also equipped this crossover with H-shaped taillights, a wider tailgate, and the option for 21-inch wheels.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Santa Fe has grown larger, with an overall length of 4,830 mm and a wheelbase length of 2,815 mm, increasing by 46 and 48 mm respectively.
Stepping inside, the cabin exudes luxury and spaciousness. The car features a panoramic curved display, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system.
Other notable features include a premium Bose 12-speaker sound system, dual wireless phone charging, and relaxing seats equipped with footrests. Additionally, the 2024 Santa Fe offers digital key technology, a digital rearview mirror, and a UV-C sterilization compartment.
Moreover, the Santa Fe provides increased comfort for second and third-row passengers. The legroom for second-row seats has expanded by 36 mm, and the third-row seats now boast the best legroom in the segment.
With regards to safety features, the new Santa Fe is equipped with a range of driver assistance systems, including Intelligent Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, Front Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist. Additional systems comprise Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Safe Exit Assist, and Surround View Monitor.
The Santa Fe will also be the first Hyundai model in the U.S. to feature driver inattention warning. The vehicle employs infrared cameras to monitor the driver’s focus.
For customers seeking a more rugged and adventurous variant, the Santa Fe XRT is available. Previously previewed as a concept, this model showcases a unique exterior with black accents and dark chrome trim highlights.
In terms of performance, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 is offered with two turbocharged engines. The first, a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, delivers 277 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque, significantly surpassing the previous naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, which provided 191 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque.
For environmentally-conscious customers, a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged hybrid engine is also available, offering a combined power output of 232 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. These figures slightly exceed those of the previous hybrid version, which delivered 226 horsepower. The engines are paired with six and eight-speed automatic transmissions.
