The Volkswagen Tiguan has officially launched its third generation in Europe, with the car set to arrive in the US market next year. The 2024 Tiguan carries a familiar exterior design, with some lines that bring to mind the ID.4 EV model, particularly the closed upper grille. Developed on the MQB Evo platform, the car comes with front-wheel drive as standard and offers all-wheel drive as an option.

In Europe, Volkswagen provides several new drivetrain options. However, engine options for the US market are yet to be announced.

Plug-in hybrid drivetrain options are available, offering a total power output of either 201 or 268 horsepower. These models come with a 19.7 kWh battery pack, providing an electric range of up to 100km.

Mild-hybrid engine options are also offered, including a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine combined with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack.

Additionally, the third generation Tiguan is available with a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, providing a maximum power output of either 201 or 262 horsepower. The turbodiesel engine option is still offered, with the 2.0L engine delivering either 148 or 190 horsepower.

The 2024 Tiguan features upgraded technology, including an improved adaptive chassis control system that operates with an electronic differential lock. The car is also equipped with advanced technologies carried over from its predecessor.

Inside the cabin, Volkswagen has introduced a new layout for the digital instrument cluster and updated infotainment system. The company has used its MIB graphic design, already seen in models such as the ID.4, ID.5, and ID.7. Drivers have the option to select between different viewing modes: Classic, Progressive, Navigation, and R-Line.

The safety systems on the 2024 Tiguan include adaptive cruise control, hill start assist, parking distance control, lane keeping assist, lane change assist, and more.

Currently, there is no detailed technical information available for the US version of the Tiguan.
