Nicolas and Lee Begovich, the Deputy Chairman of Hughes Aircraft, have generously donated 15 classic sports cars to CSUF. The collection, valued at a minimum of $10 million, consists of cars from the 1950s until now. These cars were purchased directly from the factory and have been meticulously preserved.

One of the rarest cars in the collection is the 1953 Pegaso Z-102 coupe/cabriolet. Only 84 of this type were ever produced. It is equipped with a 2.8L V8 engine, delivering 168 horsepower and 216 Nm of torque. The car also features a 5-speed manual transmission.

The collection also includes other notable models such as the 1952 Jaguar XK120, 1956 Porsche Speedster 1600 Super, 1956 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale, and 1964 Porsche 904 GTS.

Highlighting the collection are the 1969 Lamborghini Miura and the 1975 Ferrari Dino 208 GT4. Additionally, the 1966 ATS, 1974 Maserati Bora, and 1973 De Tomaso are among the last European models featured. The two North American models are the 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder and the 1970 Camaro SS.

The donated cars will be auctioned by a third party authorized by CSUF. The proceeds from the auction will go towards supporting student research and improving university infrastructure, including the development of a state-of-the-art laboratory.
