Yesterday, on November 28, 2023, Vietnam’s joint auction company organized an auction for cars after a 3-day suspension. During the afternoon session of the same day, a surprising event took place, as the winning bids for license plates in the morning were not high, ranging from only 40 million VND to 60 million VND.
However, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, there was a single license plate that surpassed the one hundred million VND mark, making it the only license plate on November 28th to reach this price range. The license plate in question is 20A-685.86, which was won with a bid of 360 million VND.
This is quite surprising to many people since they do not know which billionaire placed a bid of 360 million VND for the license plate 20A-685.86. The reason behind this high bidding price is that this license plate does not fall into any specific category such as quadruplet, hall, pair number, or trio. It simply consists of the numbers 68 at the beginning and 86 at the end, symbolizing fortune and prosperity.
The second-place license plate is 30K-590.99 with a bidding price of 90 million VND. In terms of aesthetics, the license plate 30K-590.99 is slightly more appealing than the license plate 20A-685.86, both in terms of its meaning and the province it represents.
As per regulations, the winner of the car license plate auction is required to pay the full auction amount within 15 days from the date of result announcement. This amount will be deducted from the initial deposit of 40 million VND, but it does not include the vehicle registration fees.
Furthermore, the winner of the license plate auction must register the plate for their car within 12 months. Failure to do so will result in the transfer of the license plate to the vehicle registration and management system, and the winner will not be refunded the bid amount they have already paid.
