With regards to the design, the 2024 BMW X2 showcases an overall sporty SUV coupe design. The car’s front is upright, the wheel arches flare out, and the rear end is powerful, giving it a confident and athletic appearance. These elements make the crossover appear more mature than its predecessor.
What sets the X2 apart from its sibling, the X1, are the streamlined headlights integrated with 2 LED daytime running lights, new taillights, and the option of an illuminated grille. Additionally, the new X2 is the first compact BMW to offer 21-inch wheels as an option.
The car’s sides have been refined with smoother design lines and flush-fitting door handles. In terms of size, the new X2 has increased its length by 193 mm to 4,567 mm, while the wheelbase has been extended by 23 mm compared to its predecessor.
Upon entering the cabin, users will immediately notice that it is more spacious compared to the previous model. For example, legroom in the rear seats has been increased by 25.4 mm.
In terms of interior equipment, BMW has placed emphasis on touch and voice control through the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, supported by the new BMW iDrive 9. The iDrive 9 made its debut on the 2024 BMW X1 M35i xDrive in June this year.
The curved center display includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment screen that seamlessly integrates behind a curved glass surface. The QuickSelect feature allows for quick activation of selected functions without delving into submenus, and a single touch on the home icon brings the user back to the main screen. Additionally, among the new interior features is the inward-facing cabin camera capable of taking photos and shooting videos.
Regarding powertrain options, the 2024 BMW X2 available in the U.S. will come with 2 drivetrain options. The base engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder on the X2 xDrive28i, which produces a maximum output of 241 horsepower. This engine allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Upgrading to the X2 M35i xDrive, users will receive a more powerful 2.0L engine, which produces a maximum output of 312 horsepower. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5.2 seconds. The M Sport exhaust system enhances the driving experience. Both X2 models come with the exclusive new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
