On September 23, the MG Cyberster pure electric sports car was unveiled in Vietnam alongside the New MG5 and MG RX5 models.
To everyone’s surprise, some dealers have started accepting deposits for this car model. The MG Cyberster is expected to be priced between 2.2 and 2.4 billion VND. Customers who place orders now may have to wait until May 2024 to receive their cars.
Vietnam is one of the first countries to accept deposits for this car model.
The MG Cyberster is positioned in the C-size convertible segment. It has dimensions of 4,535 x 1,913 x 1,329 mm (L x W x H) and a wheelbase of 2,690 mm.
The car has a muscular and charismatic appearance with a well-balanced body ratio, featuring a long bonnet and a bulging tail section that give it a muscular sensation.
At the rear, there is an elongated LED strip that wraps around the tail, and a taillight with integrated arrow-shaped turn indicator lights mounted on the black decorative air vent. The most notable feature is the unique scissor-like door design, reminiscent of Lamborghini models.
The driver’s compartment of the MG Cyberster features only two seats with Y-shaped sports seats. The car is equipped with a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, integrated paddles to adjust the energy recovery system, and a curved digital instrument cluster that consists of three screens on the dashboard surface.
In addition, MG also provides a screen placed on the center armrest of the Cyberster, along with a modern integrated infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 and Unreal Engine 4.0 graphics. This system is combined with premium Bose speakers.
The MG Cyberster is available with three motor options. The standard version is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor with a maximum power of 309 horsepower. The mid-range version features a rear-mounted electric motor with 335 horsepower.
The most powerful version is equipped with two electric motors, delivering a total power of 536 horsepower and a maximum torque of 725 Nm. It also comes with four-wheel drive. With this power, the Cyberster can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
The top speed of the MG Cyberster is limited to 200 km/h for dual-motor variants and 193 km/h for single-motor versions.
There are two types of batteries available for the three motor versions, with capacities of 64 kWh and 77 kWh. These batteries provide a travel range of 501 km, 520 km, and 580 km respectively with a full charge, according to the CLTC test cycle in China.
