According to the information posted on the website of the Vehicle Registration Department, the new generation Honda City has completed the registration process and is ready to launch in Vietnam.
For the L and RS versions of the Honda City, the Japanese carmaker has equipped this B-segment sedan model with disc brakes instead of the previous generation’s drum brakes. However, the G version of the Honda City still retains drum brakes on the rear axle.
Despite the upgrade, electronic parking brakes have not been introduced in the Honda City 2023. As stated on the website of the Vehicle Registration Department, all three upcoming versions of the Honda City will be equipped with mechanical parking brakes.
In an interview with Zing, several sales consultants confirmed that the new generation Honda City, set to be launched in Vietnam, will come with the Honda Sensing safety package. This comprehensive safety system includes various driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and emergency automatic braking.
“The new generation Honda City will be available in June-July and will offer many additional features alongside the Honda Sensing safety package,” stated a sales representative.

In the 2023 version, the length of the Honda City has slightly increased by 27-36 mm. Under the hood, Honda will still equip its best-selling sedan model with a 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine that can generate a maximum power of 119 horsepower.
Currently, the Honda City is the second best-selling B-segment sedan in the Vietnamese market, following the Hyundai Accent in terms of sales. In the first four months of the year, the Honda City achieved a sales volume of 3,588 units, averaging nearly 900 units per month.
Since the end of 2022, Honda has been offering continuous pre-tax fee promotions for the Honda City B-segment sedan. Thanks to this, the sales volume of the Honda City has consistently remained at a high level, temporarily surpassing the Toyota Vios in the mainstream sedan segment.
The Honda City is assembled in Vietnam and available in three versions. The G version is priced at 529 million VND, the L version at 569 million VND, and the RS version at 599 million VND.

This is an aspect that has been neglected by competitors in the B-segment sedan market.
