The new Hyundai Santa Fe has a more rugged appearance compared to previous generations, thanks to its boxy exterior. Particularly, the XRT Concept version looks even tougher and resembles a dedicated off-road SUV.
According to Hyundai, the XRT is designed to cater to the diverse needs of outdoor enthusiasts. This variant is based on the Calligraphy version and comes with additional features such as a roof rack for convenient storage of extra luggage, a spare tire, a tailgate step, and a small box at the rear. The customized SUV also boasts more rugged tires compared to the regular version and features sturdy black 5-spoke wheels.
Unfortunately, Hyundai has not released any images or detailed information about the interior of the XRT. It remains unclear whether the cabin has undergone any adjustments to complement the rugged exterior design.
Moreover, it is uncertain whether the additional equipment offered on the XRT will be available as factory accessories or if they are solely for display purposes on this concept car.
In South Korea and North America, the all-new Santa Fe will be offered with two drivetrain options. The 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5T GDI – 8DCT) delivers a maximum power of 281 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 1.6-liter Turbocharged Hybrid gasoline engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV – 6AT) provides a maximum power of 180 horsepower.
In Europe, the 2024 Santa Fe will be available with two drivetrain options as well. These include a turbocharged 1.6L hybrid engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV – 6AT) or a turbocharged 1.6L plug-in hybrid engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI PHEV – 6AT) with a maximum power of 160 PS.
In other regions, the all-new Santa Fe will also offer a 2.5-liter gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5 GDI – 8AT) producing a maximum power of 194 PS.
The new generation Santa Fe is expected to launch in South Korea in the second half of this year, and in North America and Europe in the first half of next year. The North American debut is scheduled for the Los Angeles Auto Show 2023.
