Hyundai has recently revealed the 2024 Sonata. Currently, there is not much information available about this D-segment sedan, but the Korean automaker claims that this new version goes beyond being just a regular mid-cycle refresh.
Following the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, the 2024 Sonata takes inspiration from the second-generation Kona with its wide LED strip lighting that runs across the front. The main headlights are concealed within the upper section of the air intakes on either side. The grille is larger and features sharper, more impressive design lines. Additionally, the car has a more muscular hood with strong raised creases.
In the rear, the car is equipped with a new trunk lid and slim LED taillights that are connected by a single LED strip. The N Line models come with sporty exhaust tips and special 19-inch wheels.
Moving to the interior, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata also receives notable upgrades. The most noticeable change is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen, both housed within a floating curved display. Additionally, the 2024 version features a behind-the-wheel gear shifter.
Hyundai has enhanced the interior of the 2024 Sonata to improve the passenger experience, combining elegant and sporty colors for each variant.
As mentioned earlier, Hyundai has not yet announced detailed technical specifications for the 2024 Sonata. However, according to some sources, a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will be the standard engine, replacing the 1.6L turbocharged engine offered in some markets. The 2.5L engine delivers 290 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque in the pre-successor Sonata N Line, which has received high praise.
The 2024 Hyundai Sonata will be unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show in South Korea from March 30 to April 9. It may also make its first appearance in the US at the New York International Auto Show on April 6.
