Isuzu Introduces New Version of D-Max Pickup Truck

Isuzu has recently unveiled a new version of their popular D-Max pickup truck. This updated model is a mid-life facelift of the third-generation D-Max, which has been on the market since 2019.

The exterior changes to the new Isuzu D-Max are focused on the front of the vehicle. It features a 3D designed grille, new headlights (Bi-Led technology on higher trims), and a rugged front bumper. The rear area of the vehicle has also been refined with larger integrated spoilers and updated tail lights. The new Isuzu D-Max still offers a variety of different bed options to suit various customer needs.

The D-Max V-Cross 4×4 variant boasts a sporty exterior with an exclusive body kit that includes plastic garnish around the grille, a chrome front bumper, extended wheel arches, matte black 18-inch alloy wheels, and other accessories.

Inside, the 2024 Isuzu D-Max comes with new trim options and upgraded technology. The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system now features new touch-sensitive buttons/shortcuts, and the physical volume and tuning knobs are combined with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. USB-C ports have also been added for both front and rear passengers, along with a new remote engine start key.

When it comes to performance, the Isuzu D-Max 2024 offers two engine options. The first is a 1.9L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum output of 150 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The second option is a 3.0L diesel 4-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.0L, producing up to 190 horsepower and a peak torque of 450 Nm. The engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, and customers can choose between rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Although there are no major upgrades to the engines, Isuzu claims that the D-Max 2024 has improved off-road capability with the addition of an electronic limited-slip differential at the rear, combined with the Rough Terrain Mode system, which assists the driver in controlling braking and traction in challenging off-road situations.

During the unveiling ceremony of the new D-Max version, Isuzu also announced plans to introduce an electric version of the D-Max in the near future. The electric version will be produced in Thailand and will first be launched in Europe before entering other markets. However, the company has not yet released the specifications or expected launch date of this electric version.

The Isuzu D-Max 2024 is set to go on sale starting from October 12th in the Thai market, with plans for distribution in other markets, potentially including Vietnam. Prices for the D-Max range from $14,551 for the base model to $33,876 for the highest trim level. In comparison, the price of the Ford Ranger in Thailand ranges from 633 to 886 million VND.
