The Kia Ray, originally designed for the Korean market, was also available in Vietnam from 2011-2013.
Recently, the Korean automaker introduced an electric version of this compact car model.
In the Korean market, the Kia Ray EV 2024 comes with a 4-seater configuration and an optional cargo van version with either 1 or 2 seats. The starting price for the car is between 27.35 and 29.55 million won (equivalent to 496 – 536 million VND). This is considerably higher than the gasoline-powered version of the Kia Ray.
The Kia Ray EV is powered by an electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 87 horsepower and a peak torque of 147 Nm. It is equipped with a 35.2 kWh LFP battery, offering a maximum range of 205 km on a full charge. The range can be extended to 233 km within city limits. The Kia Ray EV 2024 supports fast charging at 150 kW and slow charging at 7 kW. With fast charging, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in approximately 40 minutes.
In terms of exterior design, the electric version looks similar to the gasoline-powered model. The only noticeable difference is the inclusion of a charging port located at the front of the car, behind the Kia logo. Additionally, the electric model offers the option of a blue exterior color.
The Kia Ray EV retains its asymmetrical door design, with the driver side rear door opening conventionally and the passenger side rear door sliding, reminiscent of larger MPVs.
Inside the cabin, the Kia Ray EV features a 10.24-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen center display, and an electronic gear shifter located on the steering column as standard. Optional features include seat heating, ventilated seats, a flat-folding driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, and artificial leather seats.
