Kia has recently shared new information about the upgraded Carnival model, ahead of its official launch in South Korea at the end of this month.

Starting from the exterior, the MPV model adopts the Opposites United design language, which combines elegance and strength, giving it an SUV-like appeal. The most noticeable changes are found at the front of the car, where the Carnival features a larger grille and a redesigned front bumper. These updates are complemented by new vertically-designed headlights and “Star Map” daytime running lights.

At the back, the 2024 Carnival showcases a smoother appearance as the traditional handle to open the trunk has been removed. Another noticeable change is the repositioning of the Kia logo, which no longer acts as a divider for the LED strip. The reflex lights on the rear bumper also appear slimmer than before.

For customers seeking a more distinctive vehicle, Kia offers the new Gravity package, featuring dark accents and exclusive 19-inch black wheels.

Inside the cabin, there are further updates including a slightly revised dashboard and a prominent panoramic curved display. This curved display integrates a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Additionally, the center control cluster has also been modified.

The 2024 Carnival comes equipped with an improved interior ambient lighting system, as well as features such as fingerprint recognition technology and a UV-C disinfection box on the center console. Other highlights include an 11-inch heads-up display, Ergo Motion seats, and a modernized infotainment system with support for over-the-air updates.

In terms of technology, this MPV model is equipped with various driver assistance systems including Front Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Collision Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2. Additional features include Automatic Headlights, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Powering the Carnival is a new 1.6L turbocharged hybrid powertrain, delivering a combined output of 242 horsepower and a maximum torque of 367 Nm.

Customers can also choose from the familiar 2.2L diesel engine and the 3.5L V6 gasoline engine. Other announced updates include improved suspension for a smoother driving experience and additional sound insulation materials for a quieter cabin.

The new Carnival will begin accepting deposits in South Korea this week, with a starting price of 34.7 million won ($26,601).
