Kia Introduces the All-New 2024 Sorento SUV at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show

The 2024 Kia Sorento has undergone significant changes compared to its predecessor, particularly in the front design. The most noticeable update is the redesigned vertical headlight cluster, featuring eye-catching T-shaped daytime running lights.

The grille, also known as the “tiger-nose” grille, has been refined and seamlessly integrated with the front lights. Unlike the previous version where the Kia logo was positioned at the center of the grille, the logo now resides on the bonnet. The front end has been reworked to create a sleeker appearance, with a modified bumper showcasing cleaner lines and added vertical air intakes. Overall, the front design of the 2024 Kia Sorento bears similarities to the Kia EV9.

In terms of side profile, the 2024 Kia Sorento maintains a similar look to its predecessor, with the exception of newly designed alloy wheels. At the rear, the updated version of the Sorento stands out with split rear lights connected by unique lighting graphics, forming an inverted U-shape. The rear bumper and underbody cover have also undergone redesigns, resulting in a cohesive and pleasing aesthetic. Additionally, two new exterior colors, Dawning Red and Midnight Lake Blue, have been added to the color lineup.

The interior space of the 2024 Kia Sorento has been refined in terms of design and boasts several new features. The highlight is the elongated curved screen on the dashboard, which encompasses a central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The 2024 Kia Sorento is equipped with a digital key, allowing users to conveniently lock/unlock the doors and manage the vehicle remotely using their smartphones. Safety features include front collision avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, highway driving assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Notably, the US version of the 2024 Kia Sorento offers an additional X-Pro variant. The X-Pro variant is designed for customers who prefer a sporty style, featuring glossy black front/rear bumpers, roof rack, grille, 17-inch wheels, and BF Goodrich off-road tires. The Sorento X-Pro’s interior showcases olive green and light blue leather upholstery, along with open pore wood trim.

Powering the standard 2024 Kia Sorento is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 191 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Higher-end versions offer increased power output of 281 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque, thanks to a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine mated to an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

The 2024 Kia Sorento also provides hybrid and PHEV engine options; however, these variants will be available at a later date. The price of this mid-size SUV has not yet been announced by the manufacturer.
