Porsche officially introduces the third generation of the Panamera sports sedan.
In general, the 2024 Panamera does not differ much from its predecessor, but it still has enough new features to distinguish it as a different version. The car has dimensions of 5,052 x 1,938 x 1,422 mm (length x width x height), with a slight increase of 3 mm in length.
The most noticeable change in the exterior of the Porsche Panamera 2024 is the front area of the car. It features larger air vents accompanied by new standard LED Matrix headlights.
The side area of the car maintains a similar design, but the company has added new air vents to the front fenders, sharper corner window glass, and frameless rear windows.
The Panamera 2024 comes with optional 21-inch multi-spoke wheels. The design of these wheels is inspired by its “brother” Porsche 911 GT3.
The rear of the car still retains the coupe-like shape, but the taillights have been redesigned to be sleeker and more streamlined. Additionally, the rear wing now has two new open modes and the rear diffuser has been slightly refined.
To give the premium Turbo E-Hybrid model a unique look, it will have special air vents, color-matched diffusers, and copper-colored exhaust pipes. The front air vents, window frames, and Turbo lettering on the rear door are finished in a new Turbonite color.
In terms of the interior, the cabin of the Panamera has many similarities with its “sibling” Taycan. It is equipped with a curved 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. To ensure the driver’s focus is not distracted, the passenger-side screen is covered with a special film.
Similar to the Cayenne SUV model, the traditional gearbox on the center console of the Panamera has been replaced with a toggle switch located behind the steering wheel, allowing for a larger storage compartment.
Not only equipped with modern features in the front seats, the rear seats of the Panamera also have a storage compartment and a touch screen to control certain functions in the car, which are installed between the two rows of seats.
The new version of the steering wheel integrates mode selection buttons as well as a head-up display.
Other eye-catching features include a continuous lighting system along the entire center console, improved foam seat padding, and more color and material options. Porsche also offers non-leather options for the first time, such as Race-Tex and Pepita fabric.
In terms of performance, the new generation Panamera is equipped with 4 E-Hybrid variants, all of which have more powerful electric motors with a new dual-clutch transmission.
Currently, Porsche has only released the specifications of the Turbo E-Hybrid version of the Panamera.
This version is equipped with a V8 gasoline engine, twin-turbocharged, with a displacement of 4.0 L. It is combined with an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and a larger 25.9 kWh battery pack. This powertrain produces a total output of 670 horsepower, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in just 3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 314 km/h.
In the standard gasoline version, the 2024 Porsche Panamera is equipped with a V6 gasoline engine, twin-turbocharged, with an upgraded displacement of 2.9 L. It produces a maximum output of 348 horsepower and a maximum torque of 499 Nm.
In the new generation, Panamera E-Hybrid versions are equipped with a “Porsche Active Ride” suspension system. This system not only provides a smooth ride but also automatically adjusts the ground clearance based on driving conditions, with the ability to raise the ground clearance up to 5.5 cm.
Porsche Panamera is equipped with the Porsche InnoDrive active safety package, which offers a higher level of autonomous driving. Additionally, the car features the Remote ParkAssist system, allowing the driver to remotely control parking via a smartphone.
Porsche plans to produce the Panamera 2024 at its factory in Leipzig, Germany. The company has started accepting deposits for this car in the United States, with a starting price of $99,900 for the base version and $106,900 for the Panamera 4. The price of the Turbo E-Hybrid version has not been revealed yet.
