The Mazda CX-50 is a new model introduced by the Japanese car brand, Mazda. It is considered as a comprehensive upgrade to the CX-5 and is part of their SUV lineup, which includes the CX-50, CX-70, CX-80, and CX-90, catering to the global market.
The Mazda CX-50 comes in both traditional combustion engine and fuel-saving hybrid versions. The newly launched Mazda CX-50 Hybrid was officially priced at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. It will be available in four versions with prices ranging from 195,800 to 239,800 NDT (approximately 659 to 807 million VND).
Similar to its siblings in the brand, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid follows the Kodo design language.
The front of the car stands out with its black grille surrounded by thick border lines of the same color, giving the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid a more aggressive and sporty appearance. The grille is connected to a circular-shaped LED headlight cluster that features daytime running LED strip lights.
The car’s front bumper is muscular in design and is accompanied by two horizontally thin fog lights and a centrally divided air vent. Additionally, there are large vertical air vents at the corners of the front bumper. A silver-colored under-bumper trim completes the masculine look of the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid.
The rear of the car features a taillight cluster similar to the headlights, with circular-shaped elements inside. There are also vertical air vents at the corners of the rear bumper, similar to the front bumper. A silver trim surrounds the two round exhaust pipes, adding a finishing touch to the rear design.
Inside the cabin, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid maintains a driver-focused design and is adorned with high-quality materials. The car boasts several outstanding features including an analog dashboard, a 12.3-inch center infotainment screen positioned on the dashboard, voice control, software updates via WiFi, head-up display, Bose audio system, sunroof, heated seats, and a level 2 automated driving assistance system.
The main difference in the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid compared to previous versions lies in its powertrain. The car is powered by a combination of a naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, which gives it a total output of 178 horsepower.
Currently, the detailed specifications of the electric motor and fuel consumption of the CX-50 Hybrid have not been announced. However, it is known that the car will come with all-wheel-drive (AWD).
In addition to the hybrid version, the Mazda CX-50 available in the Chinese market also offers two gasoline engine options: a 2.0L and a 2.5L engine. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5L engine features active cylinder deactivation technology, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 7.35 liters per 100 km.
Currently, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid SUV is exclusively available in the Chinese market.
