The MG Cyberster electric car comes in three different versions. The base version is equipped with a 64 kWh battery, providing a maximum range of 501 km. It is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor with a capacity of 314 horsepower.
The middle version of the MG Cyberster is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, allowing it to travel up to 680 km on a single charge. It also features a rear-mounted electric motor with a power output of 340 horsepower.
The highest version of the MG Cyberster also uses a 77 kWh battery, but its range is limited to 520 km due to the additional power required to fuel two electric motors placed at the front and rear axles. These motors deliver a combined power output of 544 horsepower. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.
Due to the electric drivetrain, the MG Cyberster is significantly heavier than the Mazda MX-5, weighing approximately 2,075 tons compared to the MX-5’s 1,058 tons.
The interior of the MG Cyberster showcases a futuristic design that places a strong emphasis on the driver. Notable features include a dashboard equipped with three LCD screens facing the driver, a vertically-oriented center screen, a button-style shifter, a steering wheel with paddle shifters, and integrated mode activation buttons.
The MG Cyberster made its global debut in mid-April this year and is manufactured by the SAIC Group at a plant in China. Although it has not been officially launched yet, the expected price for the base version of the MG Cyberster in its home market is around $33,000, while the highest version is expected to cost over $37,000.
