According to Mercedes-Benz, the company is planning to develop headlights equipped with 84 LED bulbs, taking a step further from their current CLS line, which features headlights with only 24 LED bulbs.
This upgrade will significantly enhance the lighting range, reaching up to 600m, and thus improving visibility for drivers. Unlike Audi’s laser headlight technology, Mercedes-Benz manages to maintain production costs and ensure easy maintenance. Moreover, this new technology complies with the lighting standards set by the European market.
In 2015, Mercedes-Benz will initiate testing of this cutting-edge headlight technology on several models. If the test results are favorable, the German manufacturer will officially implement it across their product lines.
