Preview of Toyota EPU Design – Integrated Frame Electric Pickup Concept

The Toyota EPU is one of the standout models that will be featured at the Japan Motor Show 2023, which is scheduled to take place from October 26th to November 5th. This electric vehicle is designed to be a small-size pickup truck and features an all-electric drivetrain and a monocoque chassis.

According to the official announcement, the Toyota EPU has a five-seater double-cab pickup design, with an overall length of approximately five meters and a wheelbase of 3.35 meters. Its width and height are approximately 1.8 meters. These dimensions are similar to those of other small-size pickup trucks powered by gasoline, such as the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. The cargo bed is relatively compact, with a square-fold opening that can be expanded for additional storage space when needed.

An interior image released by Toyota shows that the Toyota EPU boasts a futuristic cabin design with a spacious display screen, minimalistic control panel, and a rectangular steering wheel.

Details about the performance and equipment of the EPU have not been disclosed by Toyota at this time. However, the presence of off-road tires suggests that this electric pickup truck is likely to feature a dual-motor drivetrain for enhanced off-road capabilities.
