Price of Toyota Innova Cross increased by 50 million VND at dealership

The Toyota Innova Cross comes with an "elusive" package price that compels customers to purchase additional items in order to secure their vehicle sooner from the dealership. If customers prefer to buy at the original price, they will have to wait until next year for the car to be delivered.

Since its release on October 12th, Vietnamese customers now have the opportunity to consider the Toyota Innova Cross. This model has sparked interest among users due to its affordable starting price of 810 million VND.

However, those who wish to receive the car earlier will have to purchase an additional accessory package. According to a consultant from a dealership in Hanoi, this “extra” package costs 50 million VND. Another dealer offers a more budget-friendly price of 30 million VND.

The Toyota Innova Cross comes in two versions – gasoline and hybrid, with proposed retail prices of 810 million VND and 990 million VND, respectively.

Despite the additional cost, customers will still have to wait until November or even December to receive the car. For those wanting to get it at the correct price, the waiting time can be as long as 3 or 4 months, nearing the Lunar New Year holiday.

The main competitor of the Toyota Innova Cross in Vietnam is the Hyundai Custin, with a starting retail price of 850 million VND. The advantage that the Toyota Innova Cross holds over its competitor lies in its lower listed price. However, the imported Japanese MPV model faces challenges with its “extra” package, as it is not entitled to a 50% reduction in registration fees like the Hyundai Custin.

The new generation of the Toyota Innova Cross is developed on the global TNGA design platform and features front-wheel drive, instead of the previous rear-wheel drive configuration. The car’s design has been transformed towards an SUV-like style, characterized by bold lines. Notably, the hybrid variant comes equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense active safety technology package.

In terms of performance, the gasoline version of the Toyota Innova Cross is powered by a 2.0L engine, paired with a CVT gearbox, generating a maximum power of 172 horsepower and a peak torque of 205 Nm.

The hybrid variant utilizes a drivetrain consisting of a 2.0L gasoline engine (150 horsepower) combined with an electric motor (111 horsepower). It is equipped with an e-CVT continuously variable transmission, offering a pure electric driving mode (EV Mode).
