After much anticipation, the all-new Ford Territory, the “heir” of the Escape, has finally been introduced in the Vietnamese market, posing a challenge to competitors such as Tucson, Sportage, HR-V, and Corolla Cross.
Without giving the market time to “cool off” after the successful duo of Everest and Ranger, Ford Vietnam has officially launched the all-new Territory SUV on the afternoon of October 10, 2022. With its youthful design, superior equipment, and advanced safety driving assistance technology, Territory aims to establish Ford’s presence in the highly competitive SUV segment, where it will face strong rivals such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, and Honda HR-V.
Unlike its siblings Everest and Ranger, the Ford Territory adopts an eye-catching and trendy appearance suitable for young users. According to the American brand, the new design language of the Territory reflects a sense of abundant energy.
The car features a large front grille with a chrome-plated louver pattern that exudes a premium feel, reminiscent of the Everest. The C-shaped demi lights on the Everest and Ranger have been simplified into a more youthful L shape.
A thin chrome strip horizontally crosses the hood, enhancing the car’s recognition. The main lighting system comprises of 2 bi-LED lights on each side, separate from the demi light cluster and positioned lower – a layout that is becoming increasingly popular in recent models.
Ford equips the Territory with 18-inch rims. These are paired with eye-catching two-tone alloy wheels and Goodyear tires.
The rear roof of the car features a sporty coupe style. The brake lights follow the same design as the front lights, contributing to the youthful and overall modern appearance of the car.
As you enter the interior of the car, the Ford Territory greets users with a modern atmosphere: a pair of screens behind the steering wheel and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen proudly boast the largest size in this segment. Additionally, the car is equipped with a 6-8 speaker sound system, depending on the version.
This screen system connects seamlessly with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users to easily integrate their smartphones. The car also features a 360-degree camera system, which provides a comprehensive view of the surroundings when driving at low speeds (below 15 km/h) or when making turns.
The dashboard is divided into two layers, featuring a modern design with contrasting colors. The air vents are seamlessly integrated, and the central control cluster on the console is asymmetrically designed with modern knobs, a wireless charging pad, and up to 20 conveniently positioned storage compartments around the seating positions.
The completely redesigned 2023 Ford Territory steering wheel features a flat-bottom D-cut design, emphasizing sportiness and youthfulness. Both sides of the steering wheel are equipped with modern function buttons for seamless operation.
The American SUV is equipped with perforated leather seats, providing cooling for the backrest and automatic dual-zone air conditioning with a premium fine dust filtering function.
The spacious interior comfortably accommodates 5 adults on long journeys. The rear floor has been flattened to optimize legroom for passengers. Unfortunately, the car does not feature a sunroof.
In addition to the spacious seating area, the Ford Territory also offers a generous trunk space, measuring up to 488 liters and expandable to 1,422 liters when the seats are folded, making it suitable for long family camping trips.
Under the hood, Ford equips the Territory with a turbocharged EcoBoost 1.5L engine, generating 160 horsepower and a peak torque of 248 Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Like its siblings Everest and Ranger, the Ford Territory is equipped with 4 driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain, enhancing the car’s versatility for daily use as well as off-road adventures.
In addition to the new powertrain, the all-new 2023 Ford Territory comes equipped with advanced Co-Pilot 360 safety technology, including automatic parking assistance, a 360-degree camera system, lane departure warning combined with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with start-stop function, emergency automatic braking with collision warning, and door opening collision warning.
The Territory also features other modern safety features such as lane keeping and lane departure warning, tire pressure monitoring, and the latest 9th generation electronic stability control from Bosch.
The American brand offers three versions of the Territory: Titanium X, Titanium, and Trend, with prices starting from 822 million VND, 899 million VND, and 935 million VND respectively. The car is available in 5 color options and is expected to reach customers in early November 2022.
Ford Vietnam provides additional services for the Territory, including expert product consultation, home delivery, quick maintenance, and mobile services, all aimed at prioritizing customer convenience.
