With the aim of promoting and developing Motorsports in Vietnam, Redline Motorsports Club has organized a launch event for the Racing Club in Ho Chi Minh City. The club has received support from various organizations, including the representative office for the FIA World Motorsport Federation, VMA company, the Vietnam Sports Car Association, and the Motorsports community in Vietnam. The goal is to create a Motorsports playground and establish a racing culture in Vietnam.
Although the Formula 1 race in Vietnam has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the impact of participating in this prestigious race has paved the way for car racing in Vietnam. Motorsports refers to high-speed car races that comply with regulations issued by the FIA World Motorsport Federation.
During the launch event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh, Chairman of Redline Motorsports Club, expressed his vision for the club, stating that they aim to establish a racing culture in Vietnam. The event also served as a Motorsports workshop, attracting a large number of participants.
Motorsports is not yet widely popular in Vietnam. In order to establish a foundation for the sport, it is necessary to not only build racing teams but also have individuals ready to participate as supervisors, referees, organizers, and more. The workshop aimed to provide sports car enthusiasts with the necessary information to contribute to the development of the Motorsports movement.
The presence and participation of representatives from the media, the FIA World Motorsport Federation, and VMA company at the event highlighted the importance of developing Motorsports in Vietnam. They emphasized the need for both the breadth and depth of Motorsports development. Racing clubs serve as a starting point for the professional growth of Motorsports in Vietnam. In addition to promoting racing according to international standards, these clubs also focus on spreading racing culture and promoting safe driving awareness.
Redline Motorsports Club was established in May 2020. The club focuses on selecting and training racers according to international standards and organizing small-scale races that follow the Auto Gymkhana (Motorkhana) racing format, which is accessible to car owners.
The club plans to organize seven races in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2021, attracting the interest of racing enthusiasts.
