Reviving the Heat: ARRC 2022 Stage 3 of the Asia Road Racing Championship

After a 2-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2022 is back in action. Following the triumphant ARRC Round 2 in Sepang, Malaysia, the upcoming ARRC Round 3 will be held at the Sugo Circuit and will showcase the skills of professional riders hailing from different countries.

At the end of May, Honda Racing Vietnam had an intense competition at the second stage of ARRC in Sepang, showcasing their passion and determination. After stage 2, the riders’ rankings are as follows: In the UB150 category, Nguyen Anh Tuan ranks 15th out of 24 with 16 points, while Nguyen Duc Thanh holds the 19th position with 11 points out of 24. In the AP250 category, Cao Viet Nam secures the 9th position with 26 points out of 18 riders in the entire stage.

As we move on to stage 3 of this year’s ARRC season, the Honda Racing Vietnam team continues their participation with three talented young riders who have achieved remarkable results: Nguyen Duc Thanh, Nguyen Anh Tuan, and Cao Viet Nam. They have registered to compete in the AP250 and UB150 categories.

– Rider Cao Viet Nam

Cao Viet Nam, the only competitor in the AP250 category, is renowned as one of Vietnam’s top riders at present. He became the first Vietnamese representative to win the Thailand Talent Cup (TTC) in 2019 and claimed the 14th position out of 44 participants in the 2019 ARRC with a total of 50 points. Cao Viet Nam is highly anticipated by the racing community and is trusted to live up to the expectations of fans.

Nguyen Duc Thanh, a young rider from the Honda Racing Vietnam team, boasts an impressive track record. He consecutively won championships in the Blade 110 and MSX 125 categories of the VMRC season in 2019 and 2020, respectively. These races are among the most prestigious events in Vietnam, sponsored and organized by HVN. With an outstanding performance at ARRC stage 2, Duc Thanh has earned the trust to represent Honda Racing Vietnam in the UB150 category at the Asian Motorcycle Race.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, the champion of VMRC 2018 and 2019, leads in the VMRC 2019 rankings for the Winner 150 category. With experience in racing on the Winner X, Nguyen Anh Tuan has the advantage of easily adapting to the requirements of the UB150 category at ARRC. In stage 3, he will continue competing in the UB150 category.

Arriving in Japan for stage 3 this time, the three young riders from the Honda Racing Vietnam team aim to secure a place in the Top 5 in the AP250 category. Meanwhile, Anh Tuan and Duc Thanh aspire to conquer the Top 10 in the UB150 category.

The 3rd stage of the ARRC 2022 Asian Motorcycle Race will be held from August 12th to 14th at the Sugo Circuit racetrack in Japan. This is the first time this international race takes place at Sugo Circuit, which is known as one of the largest and highest-quality racetracks in Japan. It has a grandstand capacity of over 50,000 and covers a total area of 2.1 million m2. The circuit is built as a complex following international standards FIA Grade 2.

The racetrack spans a total length of 3.704 km and features 13 corners, with the longest straight section measuring 704.5 m. As a newly selected racetrack within the Asian Motorcycle Race framework, the track structure of Sugo Circuit may serve as a highlight that sets it apart and presents a challenge for the riders.
