Effective from August 1, 2023, Decree 37/2023 by the Ministry of Finance introduces new fees for driving tests, replacing the previous Decree 188/2016. The driving test fees for various vehicles, including motorcycles and cars, have been increased as per the following:

Driving test fees starting from August 1, 2023 (in VND)
Under the regulations of Decree 37/2023, the practical driving test fees for classes B1, B2, C, D, E, and F have witnessed the highest increase, amounting to 50,000 VND. On the other hand, the theoretical driving test fees for these vehicle classes have only seen a minor increase of 10,000 VND.
Additionally, a notable inclusion in the latest decree is the fee for the driving test using traffic simulation software, which amounts to 100,000 VND. The introduction of software-based examinations and issuance of driving licenses has been officially implemented since June 2022.
Meanwhile, the costs associated with the issuance, replacement, and exchange of driver’s licenses (both national and international) remain unchanged at 135,000 VND, as stipulated by Decree 37/2023.
