The design of the Subaru Forester 2025 has received criticism for lacking personality and its own distinctive character. Many people feel that it has borrowed too many design elements from other models such as the BMW X1, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Explorer.
The Subaru Forester 2025 was recently unveiled at the Los Angeles Car Exhibition (which took place from November 17 to 26). This SUV model quickly caught the attention of both customers and the media, particularly in terms of its design. Many people believe that the new Forester bears a striking resemblance to other popular models in the market.
In its latest generation, the Subaru Forester inherits design influences from the BMW X1, evident in its clean lines and gradually sloping hood, resulting in a rugged, masculine, and modern design. However, some argue that it lacks the distinct personality it once had. Its side view also bears a resemblance to its rival, the Toyota RAV4, with its squared wheel arches and creases on the D-pillar.
The front of the car adopts a more squared-off look, with a large vertical grille that is surrounded by wing-like headlights. This design is quite similar to the fifth-generation Ford Explorer (2010-2019).
Some notable features of the Subaru Forester 2025 include a panoramic sunroof, an electric trunk, and the EyeSight driver assistance system. The wheels come in 17, 18, or 19-inch sizes, depending on the version.
If the exterior of the Forester 2025 is viewed as lacking consistency and the brand’s unique features, its interior showcases the distinct characteristics of a Subaru. The most eye-catching feature is the vertically oriented central entertainment screen, ranging from 7 to 11.6 inches, which integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The air conditioning vents are placed on both sides of this screen.
While many rival models have transitioned to digital steering wheels, the Subaru Forester 2025 retains a traditional analog instrument cluster, supplemented by a small screen in the middle. The central control area is significantly more spacious, thanks to the removal of physical buttons.
All versions of the Subaru Forester 2025 are equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine, delivering 180 horsepower (2 horsepower lower than the previous version) and a maximum torque of 241 Nm. This engine is paired with a Lineartronic CVT continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive. Additionally, the company has confirmed its plans to release a hybrid version, although no specific date has been announced. The ground clearance remains the same as the previous generation, but the Forester 2025 boasts a 10% stiffer frame structure and an electric power steering system borrowed from the WRX sports sedan.
The Subaru Forester 2025 is set to arrive at US dealerships in early 2024. While the price has not yet been disclosed, it is expected to be significantly higher than the current generation (starting from $28,390 – approximately 690 million VND).
