The market for family sedans has been greatly affected by the popularity of SUVs and pickup trucks, but there are still some sedan models that continue to sell well, such as the Toyota Camry. In fact, the Camry is currently the 5th best-selling car in the US market and the top-selling passenger car in 2022.
To keep up with its appeal, Toyota has introduced the new generation of the Camry at the ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show 2023. While the sedan doesn’t undergo a complete transformation, it does evolve in a different direction.

The design of the Toyota Camry 2024 shows clear influence from the new generation Prius and Crown. This can be seen especially in the front area of the car, which features a design inspired by a hammerhead shark. The sedan adopts the new design language of the Toyota brand, with a narrow upper grille integrated with a radar housing for advanced ADAS driving assistance features. The headlights are smaller, and there’s a new “V” shaped LED daytime running light strip.

On the front bumper, Toyota has added a large-sized grille with a hexagonal honeycomb pattern for the sporty XSE version or horizontal slats for the regular version. The car also features new vertical air vents on the corners.

The hood and side of the Toyota Camry 2024 feature prominent crease lines, and the car is available with wheel sets ranging from 16 to 19 inches in diameter, depending on the version.

The rear of the Camry retains a familiar look, with horizontal taillights, an integrated rear wing, and a “Camry” lettering below the Toyota logo. These details have been improved to fit the new generation, and the XSE version also features additional air diffusers and dual exhaust outlets below the rear bumper.

Toyota has not released the exact dimensions of the new Camry yet, but it’s expected to see a slight increase in size.

The interior of the new Camry also receives updates. The dashboard has been redesigned to appear smoother and more seamless, and it features a standard 8-inch or a 12.3-inch center touchscreen. The screen supports Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
The driver is greeted by a three-spoke steering wheel, similar to the one used in the new generation Toyota Crown. Behind the steering wheel, there’s a standard 7-inch or a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The seats of the new Camry have been upgraded in terms of cushion and headrest to provide a more comfortable seating experience. The standard version features fabric upholstery, while the higher-end version has leather and microfiber fabric upholstery. The seats also come with heating/cooling functions, soundproof glass, sporty aluminum pedal set, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard for the higher-end version.

Engine of Toyota Camry 2024
Unlike the previous generation, the Toyota Camry 2024 only comes with a hybrid powertrain. The standard engine is a 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine combined with 2 electric motors. The FWD version of the car has a total output of 225 horsepower, while the AWD version has a corresponding output of 232 horsepower. This is the first time the Camry combines a hybrid engine with AWD. The fuel consumption information has not been revealed yet.

Safety Features of Toyota Camry 2024
The Toyota Camry 2024 comes with an upgraded set of safety features. The midsize sedan is equipped with blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control at all speeds, lane departure warning with steering assist, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and standard active driving assistance.

The higher-end version also offers the Premium Plus Package, which includes low-speed adaptive cruise control, forward cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, 360-degree camera, and front/rear parking assist.
The price of the Toyota Camry 2024 has not been announced yet. The car is set to be available at US dealerships in the spring of next year.
